Unwind and indulge in a moment of self-care with this luxurious Lavender Body Scrub. Breathe deep and let the calming scent of lavender melt away stress, while gentle exfoliation leaves your skin feeling soft, smooth, and pampered!

If you love body scrubs and lavender, then I know you are going to be in exfoliating heaven with this calming and relaxing scented scrub! I use it all year long and it keeps my skin feeling polished and moisturized.

It’s especially helpful in the winter when my skin becomes very dry and cracked. With regular use, the oil in the body scrub soaks into my skin, helping to retain and lock in moisture. It’s a lifesaver!

With this easy homemade scrub, all you need is a sealing jar and three or four ingredients. You can use it often as a body scrub, hand scrub, or lip scrub.

Lavender Scrub Ingredients

Oil: Use olive oil, avocado oil, sweet almond oil, or jojoba oil.

Sugar or salt: My favorite is organic pure cane sugar. You can also use mineral salt – Pink Himalayan, sea, and Epsom salts are mineral-rich options.

Lavender essential oil: I used this Viva Doria which is food-grade (edible). You can use or source your preferred brand of oil.

Culinary lavender: You can pickup food grade lavender online, like this Organic Lavender from Amazon. You can also bake with it and use it in soup!

Recommended equipment: I like to use glass Weck, Ball, or these 8 oz. wide-mouth Kerr jars. You can buy regular glass containers with lids that are easy to open, don’t rust when stored in the shower, and are great for gifting.

Should I Use Sugar or Salt?

Both sugar and salt can be used 1-to-1 when making body scrubs. When deciding between the two, keep these tips in mind. Sugar is a humectant and will not dry your skin; it is also a little less abrasive than salt and is safe for all skin types. Salt does contain healthy minerals, but may dehydrate the skin and is not suited for dry or sensitive skin types. It is really best for scrubbing problem areas such as your elbows and feet (not the face or sensitive areas).

How To Make Lavender Body Scrub

Make the base. Add the sugar or salt to a small-medium jar, at least 8oz. Add the oil and mix well to combine, adding more oil as needed.

Add the scents. Next, add the dried lavender and essential oil and mix again to combine.

Store lavender body scrub in a sealed container to keep out moisture. It can be kept on the shower caddy or in a cabinet.

Now you are ready to sluff and scrub, revealing soft, heavenly-scented, and moisturized skin! 💜

How To Use Body Scrub

Shower: After showering, use a dry towel to lightly pat your skin, removing most of the moisture. Scoop 1 – 2 tablespoons into the palm of your hand and apply the body scrub to sections of the body, gently rubbing in a circular motion. Rinse off excess sugar granules when done. This edible body scrub is safe to use on your entire body.

Bath: This is my favorite method since soaking helps to soften the outer layers of the skin, making it easy to exfoliate dead skin cells. Once you have soaked for at least 20 minutes, lightly pat your skin with a dry towel, and apply the scrub in a circular motion anywhere on your body. Rinse off when done. Your skin will feel extra soft and moisturized!

Hands: When your hands feel dry or you just want to moisturize and exfoliate. Scoop out 1 to 2 tablespoons and place it in the palm of your hand. Gently rub your hands together, back and front, and in between the fingers. Rinse with warm water and pat dry with a towel.
